About Fredo Pies

Located just north of Kempsey on the Pacific Highway, is the small village of Frederickton and home of the famous Fredo Pie Shop

The brain-child of Nola Turnbull the shop was established in 1993.  Nola had purchased the then small general store and ice cream shop and wanted another drawcard to the business and so came up with the concept of homemade pies to complement the ice creams.

Starting on her own from very humble beginnings, Nola has weathered many storms over the years but through hard work, persistence, and a belief in her product, she has come out on top.  She is a source of employment for many local residents and over the years has trained virtually hundreds of juniors and school students.
Wherever possible, products are sourced locally including meat prepared by her son Tom at his Nambucca operation.

This small business has put Frederickton on the map, locally, nationally, and internationally.  Fredo Pies featured in a German TV documentary, on the TV series Getaway and the Today Show and is listed in the Lonely Planet directory of Australia.

Recently Fredo Pies has been extended by the opening of new retail outlet, operating under licence, but strictly following the Fredo Pies traditions, at the BP Service Centre at Coolongolook about an hour and a half South.  For northbound travellers there is now a Fredo Pies outlet in the main street of Nambucca Heads

Fredo Pies operates seven days a week from seven to seven, closing only on Christmas Day.
