Fredo Pies and Ice Creams started in April 1993, when Nola Turnbull acquired a small country store servicing locals and passing tourists with a wide variety of merchandise. The most popular product was take away food - including fish and chips, hamburgers, etc.

Nola introduced home made pies as a way of increasing business, while at the same time keeping the concept of a local general store alive. Within the next five years, Fredo Pies grew from what Nola terms "a dozen pies a day to supplement our winter income" to become today one of the best pie manufacturing companies in Australia.

Today there are some 160 pie recipes and any day, Fredo offers at least 50 varieties rotating these daily. All pies are cooked fresh daily and fillings range from the standard beef mince (still supplied by the local butcher) to the usual chicken, pork and lamb to such exotic fillings as emu, kangaroo, ostrich, crocodile and venison - plus many others.

We offer the highest quality product we can produce, bake it daily and use local ingredients wherever possible. The shop has always operated on a 12 hour day - from 7 am to 7 pm - seven days a week and closes only for Christmas Day.

Many customers are travellers looking for an alternative to boring and bland fast foods. It is important to all of us at Fredo that they go away well satisfied and become one of our many repeat customers.

The unique fillings and freshness of our product has lead to an exciting amount of publicity through not only the region but throughout Australia and even as far afield as Germany.

So when you come into Fredo's to choose your pie, we hope you will enjoy the taste sensation as much as we have enjoyed creating it for you.
